"We are lonesome animals. We spend all our life trying to be less lonesome. One of our ancient methods is to tell a story begging the listener to say — and to feel — "Yes, that’s the way it is, or at least that’s the way I feel it. You’re not as alone as you thought." - John Steinbeck
Why: We live in a culture of perfectionism yet every truly great story is compelling because at some level it is about human flaws. It's vital we find spaces to come together and celebrate our humanity. It's healthy to create spaces where we can be whole and seen. Whether a story is funny or touching or both, sharing it brings people closer and makes us feel less alone.
